US provides bomb disposal and post-blast probe equipment to Sindh police

Karachi: Bryce Miles, senior representative of US Consulate in Karachi and Robert A Clark, Resident Program Manager, Anti-Terrorism Assistance, US Embassy, Islamabad, called on Inspector General of Police, Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari at central police office here on Thursday and handed over most modern bomb disposal & safety and post-blast investigation equipment worth US$ 50, 000 on behalf of US government.

The equipment consisted of 60 items including hand-carry metal detector, mine detector and protective bomb suits. The provision of these equipment is part of ongoing course on post-blast investigation for Sindh police.

Additional IG Special Branch Rasool Bux Saand, DIG Special Branch, AIG Operations, Sindh, AIG Administration and SSP Security Special Branch were present.
