TASA stages protest at Sher Shah Suri road outside PPC
Peshawar: Expressing grave concern over delaying tactics by provincial government in promotion of district accounts officers, Treasuries and Accounts Staff Association TASA Khyber Pukhtunkhwa on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration at Sher Shah Suri Road outside Peshawar Press Club.
“We deserve to be promoted to upper grades according to our services and performance evolution, therefore we reject 50 percent promotion quota” said Muhammad Humayun, president of the association while who was leading the demonstrators.
Carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Finance department, dozens of protesters across the province shouting fullthroat slogans on favour of their demands.
Talking to reporters, the association president said that they had served their duties for 25 years but still deprived of timely promotion while after 18thamendment in the constitution 50 percent promotion quota for the district accounts officers working under the provincial government still present there which he maintained should be increased.
He added that they should be returned to their concerned quarters as number of officials of the federal government had been posted at district accounts officers in the province.
