Sports: Cricket: Pakistan CC thrashes Northern Gym to enter final

Karachi: Akbarur Rehman played a whirlwind 102run knock, which came off only 56 balls, to help Pakistan Cricket Club record a massive 227run triumph against Northern Gymkhana and qualify for the final of KCCA ZoneVI ‘A’ Division League here at RLCA Ground.

Akbar smashed nine boundaries and seven sixes in his knock to help his team post a massive 3506 total in 40 overs. Left-handed batsman Ali Asad also excelled with the bat scoring 90 runs. Naeem Ahmed Khan also batted well scoring 76 runs. Waqas Haroon picked up four wickets giving away 81 runs.

In response, Northern Gymkhana batting line collapsed as it could score a measly total of 123 losing all of its wickets in 31st over. Right arm legspinner Shahzaib Ahmed Khan captured five for 30 while offspinner Junaid Ilyas also grabbed five for 31.
