SHC sends notices in case about missing person

Karachi: The Sindh High Court SHC on Tuesday issued notice to official respondents in a petition seeking whereabouts of missing men who allegedly picked up by Rangers.

Petitioner Khan Zada Khan moved court and sought the recovery of his brother and his brother’s friend who according to him are missing since October 31, 2012.

Petitioner submitted that his brother and brother’s friend were going from Kunwari Colony to Sultanabad on the bike when they were intercepted by one police and two Rangers mobiles in the limits of Manghopir police station, and the officials took them away.

He said that he tried his level best to trace them but whereabouts of them are not known. He stated that he also went to the Manghopir police station for inquiring regarding his missing men but police did not provided any information about the detainees.

He said that he has also approached to Sachal Rangers 44 wing but are also not willing to reveal any information about them.

He said that detainee has no any relation with political parties, neither they are required in any criminal case by police or law enforcing agencies.

Citing secretary of Interior Ministry, secretary of ministry of defence, director general of Rangers, wing commander, 44 wing Sachal Rangers, secretary home department Sindh, Inspector General of Police Sindh, additional CID, and station house officer of Manghopir police station as respondents, petitioner prayed to court to direct the respondents to produce the detainees before the court.

A division bench headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi issued notices to the respondents, as well as, advocate general of Sindh, and put off the hearing of case till January 15.
