Pakistan’s missions in Gulf countries took steps to improve consular, welfare services, Senate told

The Senate was informed on Tuesday that Pakistan missions in Gulf countries have taken several steps to improve consular and welfare services delivery to the Pakistani community.

Responding to a question during Question Hour in the Senate this afternoon, Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said that a dedicated approach has been adopted to bring procedural improvement, organizational restructuring and improvement in net service delivery by Pakistani Missions. She said our missions are providing legal as well as other assistance to Pakistani disapora living in Gulf States to solve their problems at the earliest.

Responding to another question, Minister for National Health Services, Abdul Qadir Patel said it is not a fact that 28 percent vacant seats against admissions in public and private sector medical and dental colleges remained vacant.

Replying to a question, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said that a draft law has been prepared to organize a special examination to fill the vacant seats pertaining to various quotas like minorities and women which remained unfilled in the CSS examination due to not attaining the required level of minimum marks.

Earlier, PML-N leader Ishaq Dar today took oath as member of the Senate.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani administered the oath.

The House will now meet on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
