Maritime Ministry to launch project for fishermen community
Ministry of Maritime Affairs, in collaboration with Bank of Punjab and Kamyab Jawan Programme, would launch a major initiative for fishermen community, in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s vision of Blue Economy.
This was stated by Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi, in a press release, in Islamabad.
The Minister said fishermen are invited to avail financing for trawlers or working capital to buy or upgrade their vessels.
He said booths have been set up at Korangi Fish Harbour and Marine Fisheries Department which would be jointly managed by staff from the Maritime Ministry and the Bank of Punjab.
He said eligible applicants would be guided all the way till they secure their financing needs.
