Lahore, Sargodha boards win matches

Islamabad: On the 5th day of Pakistan Inter Board Sports 2012 Lahore Board defeated Bannu Board by 31 in a tough hockey competition at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium Islamabad. Sargodha won close contest with Abbottabad by 43 in a very interesting match decided on penalty kicks and got third position.

In Men’s Football Final match, Faisalabad defeated Islamabad Federal Board in a neck to neck competition by 10 and stood first on the ranking table of Inter Board Sports 2012. In Men’s Volleyball match, Bannu clinched 1st position after beating Faisalabad by 31 while Swat got third position beating KPK Technical Board of Education.

In Badminton matches played at Rodham Hall, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Peshawar and Islamabad Federal Board won their matches against Mardan, Karachi, Bannu, Faisalabad, Sukkur and Abbottabad. In the Semifinal matches, Federal Board of Islamabad and Lahore Board qualified for final. In men’s Table Tennis Semifinals, Islamabad and Faisalabad defeated their opponents Lahore and Swat respectively and qualified for final.

In Athletics, Muhammad Ikram of Sahiwal Board declared best athlete in 800 M and 1500 M race. Athletes from Peshawar Board won the 1st position in 100 M, 200 M and 4×100 Rely races while Lahore Board showed their excellence in 4×400 Rely, Tipple Jump, High Jump and Long Jump events. Gujranwala get first position in Discuss Throw, 400 M and 5000 M race. Director General Pakistan Sports Board, Doctor Muhammad Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera distributed the prizes amongst all the winners.
