JI demands impartial people in care taker cabinet


Peshawar: Jamat-e-Islami Khyber Pukhtunkhwa while demanding the inclusion of impartial and neutral personalities in care taker cabinet on Friday urge the election commission and care taker chief minister to take notice of the protocol being given to former provincial ministers.

While addressing a news conference at MarkazeIslami Peshawar JI provincial Amir Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said that it has been known that names of some relatives and close family members of the exministers are suggested for the care taker cabinet in the province, which he said would not be acceptable to his party.

Care takers should be neutral and impartial having no links with any political party or candidate who would contest the election otherwise appointment of care takers in the province will serve no purpose” he observed

Professor Ibrahim said that election commission should be given financial, administrative and judicial power so it could take effective steps for free and fair elections. He said during election the judicial staff; police as well as FC should be on the disposal of election commission.

Talking about protocol of exprovincial minister Professor said that some of the provincial ministers are still using official protocol in their election campaign, which should be withdrawn forthwith. “We want election commission should take notice of this practice and provide equal level playing field to all political forces,” he said.

To a question, JI provincial chief said that negotiations with PML (N), JUI and PTI is being continued and within a week the whole situation will be cleared as to who suits JI for seat adjustment.

About cancellation of JI public meeting in Peshawar, Professor said that due to bad weather report the organizer has decided to postpone the meeting till new date.
