IGP orders security on Pakistan Day

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sind Ghulam Shabir Shaikh on Thursday directed police to make all security arrangements at cities and province levels on the eve of Pakistan Day to be celebrated on 23 March 2013. He said that steps should also be taken to implement police orders relating to law and order maintenance and to give briefing to police officers and personnel relating to security strategy.

He said that security should also be tightened in and around Mazar-e-Quaid in view of arrival of citizens, besides taking safety measures for Pakistan Day celebrations at educational institutes. The additional police contingents be also ensured at Zonal DIGs level so that any untoward incident could be averted.

IGP said that all police units should ensure mutual coordination to protect life and property of people and remain in constant touch with Rangers Sind and other law enforcement agencies.
Shaikh said that the implementation of restrictions imposed under section 114 CrPC by Sind government should also be ensured across the province.
