Karachi: Although the PML-N is part of Save Sindh Committee (SSC), an alliance of nationalist and other organizations, agitating against introducing disputed dual local government system in the province, it might fail to woo Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Jeay Sindh Tehreek (JST) and other hardliners support in general elections, as being the followers of ideology of G. M. Syed, founder of sindhi nationalism, they do not believe in politics of elections and supporting the parties doing Pakistani politics negating the existence of four nations and their national rights.
“We will never support Nawaz Sharif whether it’s election or any other matter, as he represents a country that has usurped the national rights of Sindh. We even don’t accept the 1973 constitution of Pakistan, which does not recognize Sindhis as nation, so how can we support any party that operates in existing framework,” Dr. Niaz Kalani, Vice Chairman, JSQM, said while talking to PPI on phone.
“Yes, JSQM will support Nawaz Sharif on a single point – and that point is ‘declaring Punjabis as a nation and recognizing Sindhis, Baloch and Pakhtoons as separate nations,” he added.
Dr. Kalani said JSQM is opposed construction of Kala Bagh or any other dam on Indus River but Nawaz Sharif is not even clear on this issue.
To a question, JSQM leader said his organization will not enter into any election alliance even with those Sindhi organizations, who are members of Save Sindh Committee like Sindh United Party, Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party and Awami Tehreek, as they have different ideology and are doing politics of elections under the framework of 1973 Constitution.
Dr. Safdar Sarki, chairman, Jeay Sindh Tehreek, who is leading a Long March from Jacobabad to Karachi for the national rights of Sindh, also ruled out any support to Nawaz Sharif or any other party during the elections.
“My party will not support any party because for us the elections are a problem, not the solution,” he told PPI on phone. The JST caravan is near Sakrand on 14th day of Long March.
“JST doesn’t believe in existing parliamentary system in Pakistan because one province has majority seats in it. Saeen G. M. Syed, our leader, quit this system after Bengal became Bangladesh on same logic that if we combine all seats of three provinces, still there would be no equality. Therefore, constitutionally we have been enslaved and forcedly occupied.
“We stand for independent and free Sindhudesh and believe that getting into parliament will not resolve the core issue of occupied nations. Rather it is confusing the people and getting them into a non-stop vicious cycle providing outsider non-Sindhi population an opportunity to occupy and grab more while center is exploiting all resources of our land and Sindhi nation is dying of poverty,” he said.
Dr. Sarki said, “If this system was just and right, why the Bengal opted for independence and why Baloch people moved to mountains. “Therefore, we will not be part of any election neither will support any party,” he categorically stated adding that freedom of all nations like Sindh and Balochistan is the only solution for the peace and prosperity.
