Talhar, Sindh: The open market rate of wheat came down by Rs300 per 40kg as the government has still not opened wheat procurement centers in district Badin. As per details the food department of Sindh government has not opened wheat buying centers in the district as a result growers are compelled to sell their stock to local traders at the loss of Rs300 per maund. The maximum price offered to wheat growers is Rs900 per 40kg, while the government procurement rate is Rs1200 per maund.
The growers of Talhar, Tando Bago, Badin, Matli, Golarchi, Rajo Khanani, pangrio, Khoski, Tando Ghulam Ali, Kirio Ganhwar and Ghulam Shah Mori have been facing financial loss due to not opening of government procurement centers.
They have demanded of the government to open wheat procurement centers in Badin district at the earliest to facilitate the growers.
