Businessmen should be taken into confidence in policy making-ICCI

Islamabad: A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) led by its President, Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari visited Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) office Karachi and had a meeting with Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Shirani, President FPCCI.

Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Shirani, President FPCCI also organized a luncheon meeting in honour of President of ICCI. President of Federation of Pakistan Chamber lauded the role of ICCI for safeguarding and promoting the rights, interests and privileges of the traders and industrialists in the Islamabad Capital Territory.

He said that our country is facing huge economic challenges because of multiple factors like energy outage, rising inflation and continuously deteriorating law and order situation.

He urge the Government to build the confidence of businessmen by ensuring supply of basic ingredients that are required to pull the wheel of economy and acceleration of trade and investment in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI said that businessmen play an important role in the development of national economy by promoting business, creating jobs and paying taxes. Therefore, they should be given due representation in government decision-making bodies for formulating business friendly economic policies and to recognize their role.

Mr.Bakhtawari informed the meeting that Mr.Zubair Ahmed Malik, former president of ICCI is a strong candidate for presidency of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

He asked the business leaders to support him as Mr.Malik’s efforts and vision for the welfare of business community and said that he had already represented ICCI at Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr.Tariq Sadiq, Mr.Abdul Rauf, Mr.Munawar Mughal, Mr.Zubair Ahmed Malik, Mian Akhram Farid, Mr.Khalid Javaid, Mr.Khalid Malik, former Presidents of ICCI and Mr. Ishtiaq Qureshi and Malik Sohail were also present on the occasion.
