Islamabad:Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that the government will focus on strengthening both the quantitative and qualitative factors influencing Pakistan's sovereign ratings.
According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb made these remarks during a meeting with a World Bank delegation headed by Country Director Ms. Bolormaa Amgaabazar. He emphasized the government's intention to engage more deeply with relevant stakeholders to further improve the country's sovereign credit standing.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister and the World Bank delegation reviewed the implementation of the National Tariff Policy. They also discussed ongoing analytical support for tariff reforms, including those related to the automotive sector and future tariff reforms. The conversation highlighted the need to support competitiveness, productivity, investment, exports, and Pakistans integration into global value chains.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing cooperation under the economic reform partnership. They agreed to concentrate on implementation, institutional strengthening, private-sector-led growth, improved public-resource management, stronger investment, and enhanced economic opportunities.
