Death Anniversary of Poet, Lyricist Tasleem Fazli Observed

Islamabad: Forty-fourth death anniversary of renowned Pakistani Urdu poet, dialogue writer, and film lyricist Tasleem Fazli was observed on Monday.According to Radio Pakistan, his real name was Izhar Anwar. Born in 1947 in New Delhi, British India, into a family with a literary background, he migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1965.Tasleem Fazli wrote nearly 500 songs for more than 170 Pakistani films during the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. He penned numerous legendary songs, including 'Rafta Rafta Woh Meri Hasti Ka Saman Ho Gaye,' 'Maine Pairon Mein Payal Toh Bandhi Nahin,' 'Hamari Saanson Mein Aaj Tak Woh,' 'Kisi Mehrbaan Ne Aake,' 'Mujh Sa Tujh Ko Chahne Wala,' 'Tu Meri Zindagi Hai,' and 'Dinwa Dinwa Main Ginnun Kab Aayenge Saanwariya.'Tasleem Fazli won multiple Nigar Awards for Best Lyrics for films such as Shabana, Aina, and Bandish. He passed away in Karachi on this day in 1982.
