Islamabad: Pakistan remains firmly committed to the principles of diplomacy, respect for sovereignty, and meaningful international engagement as the pathway toward regional stability and global harmony. This was stated by Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Andrabi at his weekly media briefing in Islamabad this afternoon.
According to Radio Pakistan, Tahir Andrabi emphasized that constructive partnerships and sincere dialogue are essential to advancing peace, security, and shared prosperity for all. Addressing recent voices within India advocating for talks with Pakistan, he described these calls for dialogue as a positive development, expressing hope that they signal a shift away from the war mongering and belligerence previously observed from India.
In response to a question about a CBS News report on the presence of Iranian aircraft in Pakistan, Andrabi categorically rejected the report as misleading and sensationalized. He asserted that such speculative narratives appear aimed at undermining regional stability efforts, reiterating Pakistan's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote dialogue, reduce tensions, and advance peace and security.
On the topic of US President Donald Trump's visit to China, Andrabi highlighted the importance of the visit, welcoming the engagement, dialogue, and cooperation between the two nations, particularly concerning global peace and security. He expressed Pakistan's hopes for productive deliberations between the US and China.
Regarding Pakistan's position on Taiwan, Andrabi reaffirmed the country's adherence to the One-China principle, viewing Taiwan as an integral part of China. He stated that Pakistan remains committed to this principle in bilateral interactions and multilateral forums, such as the United Nations and the World Health Assembly, and supports China's efforts towards national reconciliation and unification.
