Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated a mobile veterinary fleet consisting of mobile hospitals and dispensaries in Lahore today. The fleet aims to provide accessible veterinary services to livestock farmers across the region.
According to Radio Pakistan, the mobile veterinary dispensaries and hospitals are equipped with ultrasound, X-ray, and laboratory facilities. This initiative is part of the government's effort to ensure that livestock farmers receive treatment facilities directly at their doorstep. The Chief Minister also gave the green light for the design of a model veterinary hospital to be established at the tehsil level, enhancing the infrastructure for animal healthcare in rural areas.
The meeting highlighted that 30 mobile veterinary dispensaries and 17 mobile veterinary laboratories have been launched as part of this project. Additionally, 6,964 mobile motorbikes have been provided to veterinary assistants, ensuring that assistance can reach farmers swiftly and efficiently. This development is expected to significantly improve the health management of livestock, which is a crucial sector for Punjab's economy.
