Voting for bye-elections in 33 constituencies of NA on March 16

Voting for bye-elections in 33 constituencies of the National Assembly will be held on 16th of March.

 

According to the schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan today, nomination papers will be filed from 6th to 8th of the next month.

 

The constituencies, where bye-elections will be held include: NA-04 Swat, NA-17 Haripur, NA-18 Swabi, NA-25 and NA-26 Nowshera, NA-32 Kohat, NA-38 Dera Ismail Khan, NA-43 Khyber, NA-52, 53, and NA-54 Islamabad, NA-57, 59, 60, 62 and NA-63 Rawalpindi, NA-67 Jhelum, NA-97 Bhakkar, NA-126 and NA-130 Lahore, NA-155 and NA-156 Multan, NA-191 Dera Ghazi Khan, NA-241, 242. 243, 244, 247, 250, 252, 254, and NA-256 Karachi and NA-265 Quetta.

PTI Chief telling lies, misguiding people: Marriyum

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says all lies of foreign agent have been badly exposed.

 

Reacting to PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s statement, she said the foreign agent is himself hiding in home and inciting people to protest on streets.

 

She said the foreign agent knows quite well that if he comes out of the refuge of his house, his freedom to tell lies will be destroyed.

 

Marriyum Aurangzeb said it is time to send the killer of economy and criminal of people to jail.

Finance Minister vows to promote Islamic finance system in Pakistan

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has vowed to promote Islamic finance and eliminate interest based system in Pakistan in true spirit within five years.

 

He was chairing the First Steering Committee meeting in Islamabad today on implementation of Federal Shariat Court’s judgment on Riba.

 

The Finance Minister urged upon all the stakeholders to work with commitment, sincerity and understanding to overcome all the hurdles in way of implementation of interest free system as already 21 per cent of banks enjoy Islamic banking system.

 

The Finance Minister emphasized to include professional experts on Islamic laws in the committees and also seek guidance of Ulema and Islamic intellectuals into launching of additional Islamic Sukuk bonds.

 

Ishaq Dar appreciated Governor State Bank of Pakistan for his sincere efforts in making roadmap for implementation of Islamic financing and interest free system. He also expressed satisfaction on SBP and NBP for withdrawing appeals in the Supreme Court against the judgment of Federal Shariat Court and paving the way for its implementation.

 

Earlier, Governor State Bank informed the meeting that five working groups had been formed to overcome the technical issues, getting recommendations and deciding on way forward for fully implementation of the Islamic financing.
