President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the nation to adopt modern trends of global community for development of the country.

Addressing the 12th convocation ceremony of Virtual University in Lahore on Thursday, he said education and training has more impact on character building as compared to knowledge.

He said twenty million children are still out of schools in the country.

Arif Alvi said no country can progress without education.

Canadian High Commissioner Ms. Leslie Scanlona called on the Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer in Islamabad on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Rana Tanveer said that the two countries have a long friendly relations with people to people love for each other.

The Federal Minister said that the two countries can benefit from the experience of each other.

He said that there is significant potential in cooperation between the two countries.

Both discussed exchange of expertise and knowledge regarding Vocational and Technical Training.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has presided over the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in Islamabad on Thursday.

In the meeting, Ministry of Commerce submitted a summary regarding export of sugar with proposals from SBP and PSMA on certain conditions regarding mode of payment and time period for realization of export proceeds.

For the facilitation of export of sugar, the ECC after detailed discussion approved revised conditions.
