Islamabad: The Sixteenth meeting of National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) was held here at the Higher Education Commission Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmad, Chairman, NCEAC.
Chairman, NCEAC presented cases of thirteen institutions having sixteen computing programs.. Accordingly W, X, Y and Z categories were awarded to the programs under consideration. During the meeting it was informed that so far the total of 92 computing degree programs have been accredited by NCEAC.
The other important issues were also discussed in the meeting regarding the regular publication of Parents Alerts of accredited programs as well as of those university/institutions which have not yet applied for the accreditation.
It was also decided in the meeting that the regional meetings will be held by HEC with the collaboration of NCEAC to create awareness among the stakeholders about the accreditation of the computing degree programs offered in the universities/institutions countrywide.
The following members attended the meeting Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Prof. Dr. Ayub Alvi, Prof. Dr. Zubair A. Shaikh, Prof. Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan and Mr. Fida Hussain, Director General QAA, HEC. The representatives of the Ministry of Information Technology, IT Departments and Boards at provincial level also attended the meeting.
