Support for Lebanon’s Sovereignty Reaffirmed by Pakistan’s Prime Minister

New York:Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan's firm support for Lebanon's sovereignty, political independence, unity, and territorial integrity.According to Radio Pakistan, this commitment was expressed during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic, Nawaf Salam, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.The Pakistani Prime Minister called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, adherence to ceasefire arrangements, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territory, and the full implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.During their discussions, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and expressed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Lebanon. They also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and the wider region.The meeting included discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation through high-level exchanges, trade and invest ment, defense, and institutional linkages. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination at the United Nations and other multilateral forums.
