Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed for strict action against tax evaders and businesses issuing fake receipts. She was chairing a meeting of the Revenue Department in Lahore today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister approved measures to monitor marriage halls, marquees, farmhouses, and major food chains through cameras, while also directing a gradual shift from cash transactions to digital payments. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of moving towards a more transparent and accountable system to curb tax evasion effectively.
Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz directed the Punjab Revenue Authority to strengthen enforcement, improve public tax awareness, and adopt modern technology. These efforts are aimed at increasing the efficiency of tax collection and ensuring that all businesses comply with the legal requirements, contributing to the state's revenue.
