Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza at a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad today. The award was given in recognition of his significant contributions to the defence and security of Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ceremony was attended by several high-profile figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, along with members of the Federal Cabinet, Parliament, and the diplomatic community.
Following the ceremony, General Syed Aamer Raza paid a courtesy call on President Zardari, who expressed his best wishes to the General for his future responsibilities.
