Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Upon his arrival, he was received by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov, alongside other heads of state who are in the city for the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting.
According to Radio Pakistan, a contingent of Pakistani athletes is participating in the Nomad Games, and the Prime Minister stood up to applaud them as they arrived. The event, which features traditional sports from Central Asia, saw enthusiastic cheers from spectators for the Pakistani athletes. These games, which include wrestling, horse racing, traditional animal hunting, archery, and intellectual games, aim to promote cultural ties and cooperation among different countries.
The 6th World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan from Monday until the sixth of next month. During the event, Prime Minister Sharif held informal meetings with several global leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres, and other presidents and prime ministers.
In his interactions with leaders such as Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations were discussed. The Prime Minister also engaged with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Togo's President Faure Gnassingb©, and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khrelskh, focusing on strengthening ties with these countries.
