Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accorded in-principle approval to further streamline and integrate the Public-Private Partnership Authority and its associated system to expedite development projects through public-private partnership. He chaired a meeting in Islamabad concerning the Public-Private Partnership.
According to Radio Pakistan, it was decided that the Public-Private Partnership Authority will operate under the Privatization Division. This move aims to align its performance with modern requirements and speed up projects under public-private partnership. The Prime Minister stressed the need to enhance the capacity of relevant ministries and departments to effectively initiate development projects using this model.
He also directed that development projects undertaken through public-private partnership be included as part of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for evaluating the performance of ministries and departments. Efforts are being made to make the Public-Private Partnership more transparent and efficient through the Public-Private Partnership Authority. The meeting included a briefing on a comparative analysis of public-private partnership models being implemented in various countries at regional and global levels.
