Islamabad: Pakistan's effective economic strategy and prudent fiscal policies are helping strengthen financial discipline and economic stability, with early debt repayments nearing 6000 billion rupees.
According to Radio Pakistan, Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad stated that Pakistan has so far repaid around 5920 billion rupees ahead of schedule. This achievement has surpassed the previous record of 1133 billion rupees in early debt repayments made in August 2025.
Schehzad detailed that during the financial year 2025-26, Pakistan repaid approximately 2900 billion rupees in debt ahead of schedule. Furthermore, an additional 1200 billion rupees have been repaid so far during the current financial year.
