Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its solidarity with the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for dignity, justice, and self-determination.
According to Radio Pakistan, the support was expressed by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the UN Security Council's monthly briefing on the situation in the Middle East. Ahmad called on Israel, as the occupying power, to immediately cease all unlawful actions intended to change the legal, geographic, and demographic makeup of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This includes an end to illegal settlement expansion, settler violence, annexation activities, and the forced displacement of Palestinians, in accordance with Security Council resolutions.
Ahmad also highlighted the importance of fully implementing the Gaza Peace Plan and Resolution 2803, beginning with the enforcement of the ceasefire and its proper verification. He stressed that the only viable path to peace in the region is a just, comprehensive settlement based on UN Security Council resolutions and international legitimacy. This includes the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian State on the pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds al Sharif as its capital.
