Pakistan Calls for End to Economic, Financial Embargo on Cuba

Pakistan: Pakistan has called for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial embargo on Cuba. The call was made by Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the second debate of the UN General Assembly on the agenda item, 'Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba'.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad emphasized that lifting the embargo would help alleviate the humanitarian situation in Cuba. He further stated that removing the embargo would enable the Cuban people to realize their right to development and prosperity. The move would also reaffirm the principles of multilateralism and international cooperation, aligning with the global community's efforts to support sustainable development and international collaboration.
