Muslim World League Applauds UK Decision to Ban Goods from Israeli Settlements

London: The Muslim World League has expressed approval of the UK government's decision to prohibit the importation of goods from illegal Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territory. The League also voiced its support for the UK's imposition of restrictions on services associated with these settlements.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the League welcomed a statement made by the foreign ministers of several countries, including Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, regarding the two-state solution. In a statement from the General Secretariat of the League, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, praised this significant stance as a move supporting the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people. He called on the international community to take immediate action to halt violations by the Israeli government and urged for effective measures against attempts to alter the demographic or geographic landscape in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly through illegal settlement activities.Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa also commended the statements made by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt. He highlighted their strong solidarity with the Palestinian people and their steadfast support for their legitimate rights, including the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions. This, he stated, is the sole path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
