Islamabad: The newly elected members of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA) took oath of their offices in Islamabad today. Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, administered the oath, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the association.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the oath-taking ceremony, Attaullah Tarar emphasized the government's commitment to utilizing all available resources to advance sports journalism and improve the welfare of sports journalists. He urged the RISJA to form a committee tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy and submitting recommendations for the promotion of sports journalism.
Attaullah Tarar also praised the contributions of sports journalists, acknowledging their role in fostering a healthy and supportive environment within the country. The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting event to commemorate World Sports Journalists Day, which is being observed today.
