Islamabad: The Punjab government is taking practical steps to provide clean drinking water to people. Chairing a meeting in Lahore today, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities to consult Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts, WASA, and public health engineering experts on the pilot project.
According to Radio Pakistan, Chief Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of providing clean drinking water to low-income households and areas lacking access to safe water sources. She highlighted that Punjab is implementing the largest-ever clean drinking water project in the province's history. As part of the project, clean water is being supplied through filtration plants and bottled water.
The initiative targets six districts across South, Central, and North Punjab for the pilot phase. The selected districts are Rajanpur, Lahore, Faisalabad, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Murree, and Kotli Sattian, where a pipeline water supply project will be launched. This ambitious project aims to ensure that every resident in these areas has access to safe and clean drinking water, marking a significant step toward improving public health and quality of life in the province.
