Gillani Urges National Unity for Peace in Balochistan

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has underscored the need for forging national unity to ensure lasting peace and prosperity in Balochistan. Addressing the participants of the Balochistan National Workshop in Islamabad today, he emphasized that the people of Balochistan, particularly its youth, must remain at the center of the province's future, highlighting their participation, ownership, and trust as essential for lasting peace and meaningful development.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chairman Senate reaffirmed the state's commitment to protecting provincial rights, strengthening the federation, and ensuring equitable development across the country. He noted Balochistan's significance to Pakistan's economic future and national security due to its vast coastline along the Arabian Sea, rich mineral resources, and geographic location linking South Asia with Central Asia and the Middle East.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani condemned recent terrorist attacks by Indian-backed proxies and militant groups aiming to destabilize Pakistan. He paid tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Frontier Corps, police, and other law enforcement agencies, lauding their professionalism and sacrifices in combating terrorism.

He reiterated that the entire nation stands firmly behind the country's security institutions and honors those who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani expressed confidence that participants of the workshop would contribute positively to Pakistan's future, urging them to carry forward a deeper understanding of Balochistan's challenges and opportunities and to work collectively for a united, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.
