Islamabad: PML-N Vice President and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's Digital Communication Department (DCD) in Islamabad. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, and other senior officials of the ministry welcomed him.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister provided Hamza Shehbaz Sharif with a detailed briefing on the various sections of the Digital Communication Department, its scope of work, and operational activities. The minister emphasized that digital media has become an effective means of disseminating information and maintaining communication with the public. He highlighted the department's role in countering negative propaganda and fabricated news against Pakistan as an important responsibility.
The Information Minister also pointed out the urgent need to highlight the government's positive initiatives and the national narrative on digital platforms, aligning with modern requirements. He praised the Digital Communication Department and PTV Digital for their significant contributions to this objective. Hamza Shehbaz Sharif showed keen interest in the ongoing activities of the department's various sections, acknowledging digital media as a crucial tool for ensuring timely access to information and effectively highlighting government initiatives.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif stated that effectively using digital platforms can help project Pakistan's positive image and communicate the national narrative globally. He expressed appreciation for the initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Information in digital communication and the use of modern technology. During his visit to Islamabad, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif also visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to offer condolences to a mother who lost her child in the PIMS inferno. He was accompanied by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry during his visit to PIMS.
