Islamabad:British High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms. Jane Marriott met with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb today to discuss bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on enhancing trade relations and encouraging UK businesses to increase their engagement in Pakistan.
The Finance Minister outlined the government's six key priorities, which include ensuring macroeconomic stability, transitioning to sustainable and inclusive growth, pursuing structural reforms, shifting focus from aid to trade and investment, expanding access to finance, and preparing Pakistan for the New Economy.
Efforts to improve the business environment and facilitate both domestic and foreign investment were also highlighted by the Finance Minister.
Ms. Marriott emphasized the potential for UK companies and diaspora networks to aid in private-sector development, particularly in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises to grow and internationalize.
They also discussed opportunities in the aviation sector, including possibilities for international financing and investment.
