Islamabad:The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has dismissed allegations made by the Afghan Taliban regime that link Pakistan to the alleged violence in Nuristan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry described these accusations as frivolous, baseless, and devoid of truth in a post on social media platform X today.
The Ministry stated that Pakistan firmly rejects any claims of involvement by its security forces or intelligence agencies in internal clashes in Nuristan or elsewhere in Afghanistan. This includes allegations of recruiting or training former Afghan security personnel or facilitating Daesh or any other terrorist group operating in Afghanistan.
No evidence has been presented to support Pakistan's alleged involvement, including identities, documents, communications, forensic evidence, or independent verification. The Ministry pointed out that a video circulating on social media purportedly supporting this claim only shows a few unarmed individuals, suggesting it was a pre-planned recording by the Afghan Taliban regime known for fabrications.
The Ministry highlighted that the presence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan are well-documented, including in United Nations reports. Attempts to create a Pakistani connection cannot hide the fact that these groups continue to find refuge and a conducive environment in Afghan territory.
The statement criticized the Afghan Taliban regime for accusing Pakistan of supporting terrorism while terrorist organizations from Afghanistan pose a direct threat to Pakistan and regional security. It urged the Afghan Taliban to address its security issues internally rather than making fanciful allegations against Pakistan.
Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized that the Afghan Taliban regime should honor its commitments to prevent Afghan soil from being used for terrorism against Pakistan or any other country. The Ministry condemned the regime's claims as attempts to externalize internal dissent and the oppression of women, children, and minorities.
