Bahawalpur:Polling for the by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-168 Bahawalpur-V concluded peacefully today.
According to Radio Pakistan, a close contest is anticipated between PML-N candidate Malik Munir Iqbal Channar and independent candidate Wali Dad Cheema.
The by-election was necessitated by the vacancy left after the death of PML-N MNA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar in August. His son, Malik Munir Iqbal Channar, is now contesting for the seat as the PML-N candidate.
Polling was conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. without interruption. Law enforcement agencies implemented strict security measures to ensure the polling process was conducted peacefully.
