OIC Ministerial Conference on Women Set to Begin in Islamabad

Islamabad: The two-day 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women will commence in Islamabad on Sunday. The Conference is aimed at developing a synthesis to create an enabling environment for women in the OIC-member countries where they can fully realize their potential to contribute to social- economic development.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Conference will also deliberate on enhancing the political and professional participation of women and advancing their access to economic resources and financial systems. It will focus on ways and means to bridge gender gaps in technology and digital participation.

The Conference will bring together government officials from OIC-member states to advance cooperation on women's empowerment, rights, and their inclusive development. Approximately one hundred ninety delegates from fifty-seven OIC member countries, including prominent women personalities, government dignitaries, OIC observers, and officials, will participate in the two-day conference.
