Beijing: Mudassir Iqbal, deputy director of the Associated Press of Pakistan, has emphasized the crucial role of media cooperation among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in enhancing mutual understanding and fostering people-to-people communication. Iqbal highlighted the need for media outlets in these countries to take practical steps to fulfill their responsibilities in promoting these objectives.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Iqbal made these remarks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media and Think Tank Summit, which concludes today. He pointed out that the SCO countries, guided by the Shanghai Spirit, have developed closer ties, resulting in multilateral cooperation in various fields that has achieved significant and productive outcomes.
Iqbal further remarked that after 24 years of development, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has evolved into a comprehensive regional entity with the world’s largest population. This growth, he noted, fully demonstrates the vitality, cohesion, and appeal of the Shanghai Spirit, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration among member states.
