Karachi: Sixteen Pakistani companies have been granted permission to export seafood to the Russian market for the first time. Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, announced this development, highlighting it as a major breakthrough in Pakistan's fisheries sector and a significant step forward for the country's seafood industry.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized that access to the Russian market is expected to pave the way for entry into other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. This expansion is anticipated to significantly boost Pakistan's export potential. Junaid Anwar Chaudhry noted that Pakistan's annual seafood exports are projected to rise from 500 million dollars to 800 million dollars as a result of entering the Russian market.
The Minister also mentioned that sea, air, and land routes will be utilized to facilitate the seafood exports, ensuring efficient and diverse methods of transportation to reach the new market.
