Three more fire stations
Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said three new fire stations are being established in Karachi at New Karachi, Korangi and Ibrahim Haidery areas.
Speaking at 3rd Fire & Safety Convention and Awards 2012 Thursday, he said government is giving attention to improve the fire safety measures in Karachi, especially after recent fatal factory fire in Baldia town.
He expressed concern that many industrialists neither get insured their assets and workers nor install proper firefighting system in their factories. He said that government was pondering to set up an independent board to deal with safety issues in Karachi.
Administrator said only 32 fire fighting vehicles are there for whole Karachi. He said now six new fire tenders were being added to the system.
