Karachi: Sindh High Court SHC on Saturday put the Ministry of Narcotics, Regional Director Anti Narcotics Force Karachi and other respondents on notice while hearing a petition against detention of a young man.
Petitioners, Ameer Bibi and two others cited Federation of Pakistan through Ministry of Narcotics, Regional Director Anti Narcotics Force, Karachi, Joint Director Anti Narcotics, and Force Commander Anti Narcotics Force as respondents.
She submitted that seven persons in civil dress who introduced themselves as Anti Narcotics Force officials on December 7 trespassed into her house without any search warrant and took away her son Rizwan Ali Shah.
She submitted that her family had received several phone calls from the Anti Narcotics Force officials who according to her said that if they want custody of her son, they should hand over the custody of Abdul Karim, the father of detainee to them.
She submitted that her husband who runs own business as commercial exporter was required in connection with certain investigation pending against him which can only be carried out under Customs Act 1969.
He stated that without lodging any FIR her son was illegally detained by Anti Narcotics Force and whereabouts of his detention was not known.
She prayed to court to direct the respondents to produce the person who have been illegally detained without legal authority.
Headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam, division bench issued notice to respondents.
