SHC issues notices on change of revenue boundaries

Karachi: The Sind High Court SHC on Thursday issued notice to chief secretary, Secretary Sind Board of Revenue BoR, Election Commission of Pakistan and other respondents in petition against change in revenue boundaries.

Zulifqar Ali Kamaryu, who had contested elections from PS9 of Shikarpur become member of provincial assembly, moved court against Sind Board of Revenue for describing the revenue boundaries and transferring Deh Rahujo, Tappu Madeji, circle Gheja of Taluka Guarhi Yasin of district Shikarpur to Taluka Nauedero of district Larkana.

The petitioner said that revenue boundaries were redescribed in 2008 but its notification was issued in 2012. He said that change in boundaries has caused political damage to him as nine villages consisting of four thousand registered voters have been transferred from his constituency.

The petitioner prayed to court to declare notification of BoR illegal and suspend its operation.

A division bench headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam issued notice to respondents and adjourned the hearing to date later be fixed by office of the court.
