ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will hear a number of important cases, including a letter of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, today Monday.
A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed will hear a letter of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, which was converted into a petition, seeking probe of Rental Power Projects RPPs case, also involving him, by a commission headed by Federal Tax Ombudsman Dr Shoaib Suddle.
The bench will also hear the Badami Bagh incident, Bank of Punjab Vs Haris Steel Industries case involving billion of rupees corruption, a petition regarding miserable condition of a school in Gujranwala, where girls sit beside graves whilst taking a test during their daily classes in graveyard, Shahzeb Khan murder case and a case regarding award of a multibillion dollar contract for import of 400 million cubic feet of LNG.
Earlier on March 11, while hearing Raja Pervez Ashraf’s plea, the court had issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau NAB chairman, PMLQ leader Faisal Saleh Hayat and PMLN legislator Khawaja Asif, being petitioners in the RPPs case.
