Rain continues, Murree receives heavy snowfall

Islamabad: Intermittent rain and snowfall over hills in upper and central parts of the country turned the weather more cold. According to met Office‚ two foot snowfall was recorded in Murree and Kalam while one foot in Parachinar and Rawalakot on Friday. Murree had received its first snowfall of the winter season as many other cities of the country were delighted with the first rain of the season. The snowfall wrapped the whole area in white layer of snow, which caused both delight and trouble for the people.

Due to snowfall the vehicular traffic also remained suspended on some roads however traffic resumed after most of the roads were cleared.

Police and rescue officials were trying their best to get the tourists out of their misery but to no avail, as there seemed to be no letup in the inclemency of the weather. On the other hand people had rushed towards Malika Kohsar and other picnic spots. The maximum of 47 millimetre rain was recorded in Kotli‚ Azad Kashmir and 44 millimetres in Malam Jabba.
