Private School Regulatory Authority Bill 2012 to be passed in coming session of PA: Minister
Peshawar: Minister for Elementary and Secondary education Sardar Hussain Babak vowed that Private Schools Regulatory Authority Bill 2012 will be passed in the coming session of the provincial assembly, saying that if private schools have any objection against the bill government is ready to negotiate with them.
Talking to media here on Friday, minister for education said that to regularise private schools it is required to pass the bill. He said the law is necessary to protect the teachers, provide them job security, set a criteria for the appointment of teachers, make registration of schools’ compulsory, and keep a check over unjust increase of the fees.
“We are ready to negotiate with the private school owners. They should come to meet us and discuss their objections instead of protesting and closing schools they should convince us as what is bad in the establishment of such an authority. If they have objection over the political head of the authority, I will assure them that no political person will head the authority,” he said.
Being minister he is not political rather he is part of the government and the minister of education who else he be has the right to head the authority dealing education sector. On other hand private school owners have announced to close their schools on Saturday to protest against the government’s decision to establish Private Schools Regulatory Authority. Private school owners apprehend that the steps will tantamount to nationalise private education institutions.
