Presence of forensic kits in police vans ordered

Karachi: Inspector General of Police IGP Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari has directed the availability of basic interrogation forensic kits in all police mobile vans so as to preserve forensic evidences at crime scenes after murder and terrorism incidents.

He expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting at Central Police Office on Monday.

Laghari directed that the record of snatched and stolen vehicles should be present in police mobiles, as recovery of these vehicles could be made possible if they spotted during patrolling. He further directed to upgrade the data of lost and snatched vehicles on daily basis with assistance of AntiCar Lifting Cell ACLC.

IGP Sindh urged police officers to ensure safety of life and property of citizens. He asked them to accelerate targeted operations against criminal elements.

He directed DIGs, SPs to increase their visits in concerned police stations in order to improve the process of registration of FIRs and resolve the complaints of citizens.

The meeting was attended by Additional IGP CID Ghulam Shabbir Sheikh, Additional IGP Karachi Iqbal Mehmood, DIG Headquarters Sindh Captain retd Tahir Naveed, DIGs, SSPs, SIU, ACLC and CIA, and AIG Operation Sindh.
