Islamabad: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has decided to send a reference to Parliament against Registrar Supreme Court for not appearing before the Committee.
A session of PAC of the national assembly, chaired by Chairman of the committee Nadeem Afzal Chun met on Tuesday. During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to send reference against the Supreme Court registrar in the parliament.
Chairman said that decision of sending the reference against the Registrar has been taken with consensus. It is up to the parliament either to send the reference to the Supreme Court or amend the law, he added.
It was pertinent to mention here that the registrar Dr Faqir Hussain had refused to appear before the PAC for the settlement of court’s account. The registrar was on the view that committee lacked constitutional support to summon him.
