OCI condemns terrorist attack in Mali

Jeddah (OIC-UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in the Timbuktu region, Mali, causing the death of six people.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Youssef Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed his unequivocal condemnation of the attack and stated that perpetrators are enemies of peace in Mali and the entire Sahel region, who are desperately bent on sabotaging the implementation of the Algiers process agreement.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen offered his condolences to victims' families and the government of Mali.

In addition, he urged the authorities to conduct investigations and arrest those responsible for terrorist acts in order to be prosecuted and punished according to law.

The OIC general secretariat reaffirmed the Organization's solidarity with the Malian government and urged all signatories to the agreement for peace and reconciliation in Mali to sincerely work with a strong sense of responsibility for the effective implementation of the agreement.
