Peshawar: Accountability Court II Peshawar today while announcing its verdict on references filed by NAB KP awarded nine years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.7.231 Million to SDO R Muhammad Rafique Bangash on charges of accumulation of assets beyond legal means.
The 09 years RI also included 02 years RI for wilful evading his lawful arrest and absconding for which NAB KP has also filed a separate reference U/C 31A of NAO 1999.
The convict belongs to village Bazukot of District Hangu. During his service he worked in various capacities with last appointment as SDO in Works & Services W&S Department Peshawar.
NAB KP taking cognizance of the case initiated investigations against the accused and finally filed a reference in the Court of Law in 2003. He did not appear in Accountability Court and fled away abroad. On his arrival, he was arrested at Lahore Airport in 2008. Accountability Court today announced the verdict against the accused.
