Islamabad: Law Minister Farooq H. Naek has said that women parliamentarians have reached to the assemblies through due process of law in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.
He was responding to points raised by several lady members who agitated against a reported statement of Tehrik-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan that women sitting in the Parliament has reached their unconstitutionally.
The Minister said no one has right to say that the women have made their way to assemblies through unconstitutional means.
Earlier, Anusha Rehman Khan, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Jamila Gilani and Kashmala Tariq said statement of Imran Khan was negation of rights of women. They said the reserved seats for women should be increased to thirty percent.
