Islamabad: Dr. Fehmida Mirza Speaker National Assembly would perform the functions of the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan under Article 49(2) of the Constitution from Dec 7.
The Speaker, National Assembly will act as President till the President or Chairman Senate returns to Pakistan from their official visits abroad.
Meanwhile, in pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 53 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly will act as Speaker with effect from the 7th December.
